Alumni Voices

I did my Bachelor's and Master's at Texas College, then my Ph.D. at Lincoln University College, then came back in 2017 to teach. Student first, staff second. Both sides taught me something different about the place. What I've noticed since joining faculty is how little distance there is between what gets taught and what actually gets used. Students get pushed hard here, and so do the people teaching them. I've been glad to be part of that, training the ones who'll take these jobs after us.

Dr. Ashish Gautam Faculty Member, Texas College of Management and IT

My Master's in Computer Science at Texas College changed how I think more than what I know. The faculty kept pushing harder questions than I expected walking in, and the hands-on work with real technical problems stuck with me longer than any lecture did. I'm in Information Security at NIC Asia Bank now, and I still lean on that training most weeks. Texas College didn't hand me a fixed skill set. It taught me how to keep up in a field that refuses to sit still.

I run Sheepalu Solution, I'm working on a DBA, and I'm still finishing my MCS at Texas College. Three different hats, one program that made room for all of them. What stuck with me is how the coursework kept forcing academic thinking and business thinking into the same room instead of letting them sit apart. Most places keep research on one side and industry on the other. Texas College didn't do that with me, and I think that's why I've been able to build the business and keep the research going at the same time."
